Union City Chamber of Commerce Celebrates Grand Opening of Ling Nam Express
UNION CITY, Calif. — September 26, 2026 — The Union City Chamber of Commerce joined the Lim family, local officials, community members, family, and friends in celebrating the grand opening of Ling Nam Express in Union City.
Located at 1760 Decoto Road, the new Union City location is part of Ling Nam’s “Express” bakeshop concept and continues the legacy of the longtime Filipino restaurant known throughout the Bay Area for its signature señorita bread and other Filipino favorites.
Founded by Tony Lim in 1990, Ling Nam has served generations of Bay Area customers and has longstanding ties to Union City, where the business previously operated a full-service restaurant in the 1990s.
The grand opening drew a large crowd from throughout the Bay Area, including longtime customers who traveled from Daly City to celebrate with the Lim family. Guests were welcomed with an all-you-can-eat buffet featuring selections from Ling Nam’s menu.
The celebration also featured a lion dance performed by West Coast Lion Dance of Daly City. For the occasion, the group debuted and “woke up” a newly commissioned lion created in colors matching the Ling Nam palette, joining two other lions used in the performance.
Alexson Lim, son of founder Tony Lim, welcomed guests and spoke about continuing his father’s legacy and expanding the family business. Tony Lim and members of the extended Lim family were also present for the celebration.
Union City Mayor Gary Singh joined the Chamber and community for the ribbon-cutting ceremony. Daly City Councilmember Juslyn Manalo was also among those who attended in support of the Lim family and Ling Nam’s continued growth.
KRON4 highlighted the family’s expansion in its coverage of the grand opening. Alexson Lim told KRON4, “This has been my dad’s legacy. He started this in 1990, and we are just now expanding it.”
The opening marks another step in Ling Nam’s continued Bay Area growth, with an additional location planned for South San Francisco.
The Union City Chamber of Commerce congratulates the Lim family and Ling Nam Express and welcomes them back to Union City.
